4 carmakers in S. Korea to recall some 69,000 vehicles

Seoul [South Korea], March 7: Four domestic and foreign carmakers in South Korea will voluntarily recall some 69,000 vehicles for manufacturing defects, the transport ministry said Thursday.
Hyundai Motor will recall 22,803 vehicles of three different models, including EQ900, for a poor durability in engine oil supply pipes as well as 13,457 units of Porter II to fix a poor bolt design in engine drive belt tensioner, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Kia Corp. will recall 11,569 units of two models, including K9, due to the lack of durability in engine oil supply pipes as well as 7,653 units of Bongo III for the defective bolt design in engine drive belt tensioner.
BMW Korea will recall 12,607 units of 34 models, such as BMW X7 xDrive40i, to repair manufacturing defects in the integrated braking system, while Stellantis Korea will fix software error of coolant heater on 955 units of two models including Jeep Wrangler PHEV.
Vehicles owners can visit repair and service centers to replace the faulty parts free of charge.
