Siem Reap [Cambodia], June 5: Cambodian authorities have asked private businesses and employers to allow workers to take three days off work with pay to return home and vote in the upcoming elections.
Cambodia is preparing for general elections scheduled for July 23, with 18 political parties vying for 125 seats in the National Assembly, according to the Khmer Times .
Addressing factory workers in the Kong Pisey district of Kampong Speu province on June 4, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said that it was important for workers to take time off work to vote as citizens had to exercise their democratic rights me.

Earlier on June 3, the Cambodian Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training issued two documents related to giving workers 3 days off work to vote.
In a document, Cambodia's Minister of Labor and Vocational Training IthSamheng stressed that all factory owners or directors must allow their workers to take three days off work from July 22-24 without loss of wages and benefits. profit.
