Ukraine established an armed force specializing in unmanned systems

Kyiv [Ukraine], February 7: On February 6, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ordered the formation of a new armed force, focusing on unmanned systems, a weapons group that Kyiv identified as playing an important role in the battlefield.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had signed a decree requiring the Kyiv government and the army's chief of staff to establish a special armed force for UAVs and drones.
"This is not a question for the future, but needs to give real results in the immediate future. This year (2024) will be a decisive year on many fronts, and obviously also on the battlefield. Systems are not The pilot demonstrated effectiveness on land, in the air and at sea," AFP quoted Mr. Zelensky as speaking to the nation on the night of February 6.
Mr. Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine , commented that the establishment of the new force provides "strong impetus" for the military's technological development.
Over the past year, Minister Fedorov said unmanned systems "have fundamentally changed the situation on the battlefield. These systems effectively prevent Russian attacks and support Russian counterattacks." Ukrainian army".
According to the decree signed by Mr. Zelensky, the results of the analysis process to establish a new force will be submitted to the National Security and Military Council of Ukraine before taking the next step.
In December 2023, President Zelensky announced that Ukraine would produce 1 million unmanned systems by 2024.
Ukrainian government officials said the country aims to produce tens of thousands of unmanned devices each month.
